Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the ways people work, communicate, access information and learn, bringing new opportunities as well as significant challenges for lifelong learning. Building effective national lifelong learning ecosystems therefore goes beyond introducing new technologies into existing education and training provision. It requires rethinking how AI can be integrated into policies, institutions and learning environments while ensuring inclusion, equity and the human dimensions of learning.
This masterclass will explore the place of AI and digital technologies within the global lifelong learning agenda, with particular reference to the Marrakech Framework for Action. It will examine the potential of AI to increase access to learning and outreach, support educators, enable more flexible and personalised learning, diversify learning pathways and strengthen connections between formal, non-formal and informal learning.
